About Amritsar
Amritsar is one of the most enchanting cities of Punjab in the northern part of India. Literally meaning "holy pool of nectar", home to the Golden Temple, and the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Religion. The city offers great places to visit and attracts tourists from all parts of the globe. It is one of the most ancient and fascinating cities of India. The city was founded by the fourth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Ramdas. The final frontier, Wagah about 28 kms. from Amritsar is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan.
