Virtually the 'green' state Haryana
surrounds Delhi on almost three sides. Haryana is primarily an agricultural
state with some major industrial areas being developed by the government of
India. It is one of the more developing states and offers a network of 45
tourist complexes, set up along the national and state highways.
Just a short drive from Delhi, one can visit Haryana's tourist complexes

Lake, Sohna, Surajkund, Dumdama, Sultanpur, Kurukshetra.
Faridabad : This is a bustling
industrial town and one of the oldest towns in the state. Various places of
tourist interest here are Magpie Tourist Complex, Badkhal Lake and Surajkund
Tourist Complex.
Gurgaon : About 30 kms from the
centre of New Delhi and a fast developing city, Gurgaon is perhaps the most
important of all Haryana towns. Originally it was named Guru Gram or Guru
Gaon (teacher's home. Gurgaon has several places of tourist interest like
the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, Damdama Lake.
Surajkund : The internationally
famous Surajkund Crafts Mela is held every year in the month of February, to
promote Indian arts and handicrafts at Surajkund which is stationed only 10
kms from Delhi.
