Kerala enjoys unique geographical
features with the Arabian Sea in the west, the Western Ghats towering
500-2700 m in the east and networked by forty four rivers, that have made it

Alleppey : Known as the `Venice

trade, rice, pepper crops & coconuts.
Calicut : Kozhikode(Calicut) is
known for timber, ivory, pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices and
hunting ground for that famous delicacy `Calicut halwa'.
Cochin : This industrial hub of
Kerala mingles the ancient civilisation with modern life and owns beautiful
tourist spots like Bolghatty Palace, Chinese Fishing Nets, Dutch Palace,
Fort Kochi beach, Hill Palace and many more.
Kollam : Also known as Quilon this
port city is located on the banks of Ashtamudi river. It has some very
stunning places to visit like the Adventure Park at Asramam, the Kollam
Police Museum and Thangasseri 5 km from the city.
Kottayam : An important
commercial centre of Kerala, the city is situated between the tranquil
palm-lined backwaters on the west and the western ghats on the east. It is
among the state's most mountainous regions, providing some of Kerala's
finest natural scenes.
Kumarakom : This small village
consists of cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake. Once a rubber
plantation the place has now got converted into a bird sanctuary.
Munnar : This beautiful hill
station lies near Anaimudi, the highest peak in kerala and is marked by the
clean, neat and brightly painted ambience, beautiful landscape, cozy weather
and wonderfully scented tealeaves.
Trivandrum : The city of
the sacred serpent, with its winding cobbled lanes, traditional red
tiled wooden houses with pagoda tops and easy pace is city of its kind.
Trichur : Also referred as Thrissur
is named after Lord Shiva and its golden history, cultural heritage and
archeological wealth makes it the cultural capital of Kerala.
Periyar : This is the town
identified with the Periyar wildlife sanctuary where the Periyar
lake lies at the heart of the sanctuary and is a must see for all the
visitors to Kerala.
